Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This restaurant has a beautiful setting around a so so area. We had half a chicken and a dish with coconut milk. It's so good that you want to eat more The owner has a nice approach with his customers. Our hotel was close by so we could walk, but in the evening there's not much light, we had to use our cell phone torch There's a nice selection in the menu. They also serve wine and maybe more There's a service charge but only 5% It's worth a try but it's maybe 2 Km from downtown"
"If you’re looking for tasty local dishes in Labuan Bajo, The Kitchen Garden is a great choice. The food is made from local ingredients and tastes really good. The portions are big, so you won’t leave hungry. The restaurant has a beautiful semi-outdoor garden setting with soft lights and comfortable furniture. The background music is nice and relaxing. The staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy authentic local food in a peaceful and cozy environment."
"Incredible delicious food. We had many different dishes. All were made fresh and tasty. Especially the Manuk Dojang, the Hang Kabo Quing, and the LODEH TAHU TEMPE LOMBOK i can highly recommend. But also all other dishes were awesome. We will certainly come back. Best food I had in Indonesia!"
"If you want to experience local food prepared by a master chef, this is where you need to go. Chef Michael is simply awesome. The food is absolutely beautiful, with the presentation of a Michelin star restaurant. The tofu starter is insane! Tip: avoid the beef as the local cows are not all that great. Stick with chicken and veggies. This place is a must!"
"Food is very authentic and local. The owner is also very source conscious in terms of where he procures his meat. The restaurant grows its own vegetable and the owner is very (shown in photo) knowledgeable about the cuisine history and different type of vegetable and plants grown around the area. He will also patiently explain the whole food process to guests who are interested in learning about Labuan Bajo’s cuisine and culture."
"This restaurant is absolutely fabulous! I had the Hang Kabo Çuing and it was absolutely awesome. A dish with a variety of flavours that you won't find anywhere else in town. Best experience that I can highly recomend!"
"I had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was outstanding! I am a vegetarian and they served one of the best vegetarian/vegan food I ever had. The food was delicious, perfectly spiced, and nicely served. The food came pretty quickly and the atmosphere was great. I’ll come back tonight!"
"Me and my partner had the vegan mains, both lovely. Just a few things we noticed - there was something crunchy in the crumbled tempeh, remove this, it’s not pleasant when eating. The eggplant skin is so burnt not pleasant to eat but the inside is lovely. Put your soft drinks and beer etc on your online menu!!! We didn’t know you had other options until we asked. Put locks on the doors in the bathroom and some hand soup would be nice. This place had a lovely little vibe. All desserts are vegan and the two we shared (both pancakes) were delicious! Service is a little slow at times but overall good. Thank you for a lovely meal !"
